This shifter adjuster will not strip out or crack like the original. The adjuster is GM part # 559978. The amount of wear is 10 times + as stronger compared to the wear on the plastic.This in turn means not removing your shifter to adjust the plastic adjuster every 10-20K miles. The internal part of your shifter will allow the life expectancy of your shifter handle & Chrome exterior rod.
